Is bilidown free?
Yes. The project uses the MIT License and requires no subscription.
Which systems are supported?
macOS 13+ Apple Silicon and Windows x64.
What can I download?
Bilibili videos, Bangumi, courses, audio, multi-part videos and collections.
Do I need to install ffmpeg?
No. ffmpeg is included in the installer.
Do I need to sign in?
Only for quality available to your account. Sign in with a Bilibili QR code; the app does not store your password.
Is download data uploaded?
No. Tasks, history, cookies and files stay on your device. bilidown contacts Bilibili, your configured proxy and GitHub.
How do I verify the installer?
Each release includes SHA256SUMS.txt and the download page includes verification commands.
Why is there a security warning?
The installer is not code signed. Download only from this site or official GitHub Releases and follow the download-page prompts.
Is it an official Bilibili client?
No. It is an independent open-source project. Only download content you have permission to save.
How do I update bilidown?
Check for updates in the app, or use GitHub Releases from the download page.
Why does download speed change?
Network conditions, the proxy and Bilibili media CDNs affect speed. After a timeout or CDN error, check the network and proxy, then retry.
What if quality, audio or subtitles are missing?
Check account permissions and whether the item provides that track. With automatic fallback off, an unavailable quality fails directly. Subtitles and covers are optional.
What should I do if QR sign-in expires?
Sign in with a new QR code. The app stores local cookies and renewal token only. It never asks for or saves your password.
What if the proxy or network fails?
Check the proxy address and network, then retry. Clear the proxy setting to use a direct connection.
Where are history, logs and data stored?
Tasks and history stay in the local app data folder. Logs, cache and settings are stored there too. Downloaded files go to the system Downloads folder by default.
Why do the app and website show different versions?
The app shows the installed version. The website reads GitHub Releases. Refresh the download page, or compare About and the official Release.
